Ms. Colleta Ndunguru
Colleta is a seasoned development financier and partnership builder with over 25 years of experience in Tanzania, having worked in international banks, government owned financial institutions and an international research and innovation institution.
Her knowledge and experience are drawn from leadership roles, credit analysis, strategy development and implementation, public-private partnership management, foreign exchange trade, resource mobilization, governance and advisory services.
Through her financial sector experience, Colleta was exposed to various sectors including agriculture, telecommunication, mining, oil and gas, fast moving consumer goods, air transport and microfinance. Colleta has worked in various roles of influence at Standard Chartered, Citibank, TIB Development Bank and Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB).
She served as Chief of Staff at TADB where is worked closely with national and international stakeholders central to the enhancement of the agriculture development agenda. This increased Colleta’s ability to engage across a diverse group of stakeholders. She is the Country Representative of World Vegetable Center.
Education and professional certification
Certified by the Institute of Directors in Tanzania, Colleta is a Director. She holds a Development Policy and Practice Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Her professional accreditations include an Environmental, Social and Governance certificate issued by The Boardroom Africa, an ACI dealer’s certificate, a Moody’s Analytics on Credit Analysis and Project Finance certificate, and a certificate of competence in Corporate Governance from ESAMI Business School.
Board Membership and Other Advisory Networks
Colleta is the Chairperson of the Primary School Committee at Haven of Peace Academy, an international school in Tanzania. She served as member of the Advisory Board of United Nations Capital Development Fund-Local Finance Initiative Program in Tanzania.
She is passionate about good governance and values institutions that aim to transform and impact economies through research-based policies and programs. She is encouraged by climate mitigation and adaptation practices that address economic bottlenecks and provide solutions for sustainable food systems.
Colleta is an avid supporter of the positive impact of digital transformation which is geared towards an equitable future. Colleta is married and a mother of three children.
